The Vertical Garden cultural space the Cigarreras in Alicante has been selected in the category of City and Landscape of the "prestigious" FAD Architecture and Interior Design Awards 2011, as reported in a statement Barbarela Studio.

On this issue there have been a total of 498 works by the Spanish and Portuguese geography, of which 37 were in the category of City and Landscape.

The Vertical Garden Project of the the Cigarreras Cultural Center is an assignment to Barbarela Studio which consists of reusing a metal structure 20 meters high, which was originally conceived as support facilities and signage cultural center thereof.

In this sense Barbarela Studio wager for this specific Vertical Garden, a unique proposal within the public space of the former tobacco factory in Alicante.

The study is based in the city of Alicante from which, together with a network of partners in different Spanish cities, carry out priority projects that are seeking solutions that integrate energy, environment and sustainability.

The means to achieve this integration is innovation and new production models.
