Oasis The mural, designed by artist Ferran alcoyano Gisbert, was inaugurated yesterday in the street Maldonado. The opening ceremony of this initiative of the Department of Urban Image was attended by the mayor of Urban Image Adrián Santos Perez, Alicante artist, the director of the art gallery 'Aural', Begoña Martínez, and the director of the Conservatory superior Dance Alicante, Angel Ramón Martínez.
"A real challenge" is the term given by the artist to the process of the work created. "It was a challenge to support the dimensions of the project, not only physical," said Ferran Gisbert, who also said that the process "it has been an experience in which I learned a lot" and has tried to capture the reasons that once it led the first settlers to locate their home in the foothills of Benacantil.
Meanwhile, Councilor for Urban Image emphasized that the work adds value "access hitherto unnoticed, Bridge Square 'and to nearby wells and Ereta Garrigós. "We are supporting street art to beautify the city," said Adrian Santos Perez.
The opening ceremony began at midday with a flamenco show by students of the Conservatory of Dance in Alicante, one of the current five in Spain and the performance of the Alicante group 'Pure Mandanga' as the strongest widened for the event, which also had the backing of Wines with Designation of Origin Alicante.
Meanwhile, the director of the gallery Aural noted that there are numerous "cities around the world that have this type of project in which art approaches directly to the public."
