A mural that looks directly into the eyes of the passerby. These de "Mosaico glances. Up there ... or down there? " And is part of the initiative undertaken by the Department of Urban Image for reactivating certain areas of Alicante.

The mural, designed by the artist Manuel Galdón together with the Department of Urban at the  Aural Image Gallery, was opened on Thursday evening with a 'flashmob' and special lighting.

Inaugurates the Alacant Public Art project, which will conduct more interventions in 2013 and through the artist's proposal of approaching Alicante to the European standards of urban art such in Milan, Budapest, Paris and Barcelona.

Several months of creative process and more than five hundred hours in the rain and bitter cold have resulted in a work of art of almost 200 square meters, spread over three walls, the back of the parking Canalejas clash Square Doctor Balmis in in Alicante and tries to revive and improve the image of the square area Balmis.

The artist admits that with this piece wanted the viewer to feel observed, "My theory is that if the observer feels about other people, even though these may just be a mere drawing, will respond in a positive way."

The concept of the work is to achieve the connection between city and resident through the human connection that exists: the look. In this way the building becomes a living organism within the town and that it is referred to as envisaged through the mosaic artist who designed the facade.

Manuel Galdón has worked for local councils in cities such as Madrid and Barcelona, he has extensive experience in art direction and worked for over twenty years for Disney Studios.
Despite its long history recognizes that developing a project of this magnitude would have generated a million sensations and, in the words of the artist himself, that it is as part of this work, affectionately nicknamed "Colossus": "when working on these dimensions feel I am part of the drawing, I'm in a sea of lines and is amazing".
