Two buildings in Alicante:  Luceros Square wears its new dress (Corian Cladding). DuPont Corian is incorporated in its new facade, providing light and freshness to the construction. In rehabilitation has taken into account the strength and durability that techno-material has to offer, against the mascletás and fireworks display that the square welcomes at the festival of San Juan, and its lightness, which allowed its mounting on the existing structure.

The coating on DuPont Corian Glacier White colour is incorporated into a building that dominated the wood, providing a beautiful counterpoint and turning it into a white facade mostly, that honors the place and the name of the city of hosts, Alicante, known as the City of Light. Design and elegance are reunited in this work from Urban Exteriores, which reuses Corian after success in other resistant applications to salt and wet environment in this coastal area.

Thanks to the easy handling of this material and all the possibilities it presents, DuPont Corian has proved ideal for carrying out the rehabilitation of the facade of polygonal lines, conforming to each line and providing a continuity that gives harmony to the building solution. It is also a very light coating. Having no reinforcement inside, it has been mounted on the metal frame which had remained the front facade and forged covering the edge. Like if it was gift wrap, the surface of Corian goes off until close false ceilings wooden terraces, providing a renewed charm to the building. To unify the facade materials, it has been opted for Corian to replace the old parts from artificial stone.

According Teofilo Perez _ Carda, the architect responsible for the project, the fire resistance of this material has been final for choosing Corian. Located in a city where the fiery celebrations are common, this building can cope with the impacts from fire that may occur. Beauty, elegance, design and architectural strength are gathered in this project of the best taste. Added to this the ease of maintenance and restoration of techno-material, its impact is not only aesthetic, but also long-term costs.
